Broke is a situation.  Poor is a mindset.

Being broke simply means you have no cash.  That can change on your next payday.  Someone who is broke is merely someone who’s been knocked down.  If you’re broke, get back up, dust yourself off, and move forward.

Broke is temporary; a circumstance that is thrust upon you, not who you are.

What can you do to stop being broke?

Dial in your budget.

Work a side hustle.

Pay off debts.

It’s simple.  It just takes work.  I know you’ll get out of this circumstance because that’s all it is, a circumstance.  A situation.

I feel for you.  We’ve all been there.  Shit happens.  Now pick yourself up and get the hell out of this situation.  Don’t fall into the trap of feeling sorry for yourself.  Men don’t hold pity parties.  Assess the situation, make a plan, then execute.

Being poor is a mindset.  It’s a terminal illness that sucks people down to the bottom dregs of society.  You might be in the same situation that a broke person is in, but you have no hope of getting out.  You’re stuck, lost in a quagmire of failure, weakness, and shame.

Dave Ramsey himself can give you a personalized step-by-step plan to get you out of your situation, but it won’t matter.  You won’t follow it.  You have no real plans on getting out.

Sure, you’ll complain about how terrible it is at the bottom, but the truth is you’re quite comfortable, especially if the alternative means hard work and accountability.  Wouldn’t want that, would we?  Best just to stick to your dead-end, job and hope government welfare picks up the slack.

Besides, there’s so many Game of Thrones and Big Bang Theory episodes you need to catch up on in the evenings.  What happens in a fictional world really fucking matters!

Go on, get outraged.  Truth hurts, doesn’t it?  It’s ok though.  You’ll settle down once the commercial break is over.

If what I said REALLY got to you, go to the store and buy some fancy clothes or overpriced electronics.  You’ll feel better.

What’s that?  You DO want to do something about it?  That’s the spirit!  Now get out there and- oh….you want to protest about how life’s unfair and you should get paid more?  And I really thought we were making progress.

I don’t pity you.  I pity those who can’t help their situation.  Quite honestly, you disgust me.

You’ve made your bed, now shut up and lay in it.
